In this class, we practice alignment as an ongoing negotiation, not a fixed state. Inspired by the Axis Syllabus, we cultivate physical perceptivity and movement fluency. We’ll explore choreography that spirals to and from the floor, plays with musicality, and invites dynamic dancing. Through improvisation, we’ll integrate our own questions and curiosities. This is a research space oriented toward expanding possibilities for movement, awareness, and harmony within our bodies.
How do we sense the curves of our bones and allow them to guide us toward support?
How do we embody the fluid and elastic nature of our connective tissue?
How do we feel rhythm as an organizing force?
How do we track and respond to the interoceptive cues arising from our bodies?
How do we honor the limitations of our bodies while orienting toward possibility?
