More about the artists and the work:

Nickels Sunshine (formerly known as Nick Duran) is a Los Angeles-based performer absorbed in creating a holistic and embodied understanding of place, what has come before, and otherness.

Oh, there you are by Nickels Sunshine

I remember twisting, his body, a rag-
wrung out. Dirty water released.
And I remember feeling that release magnified
in time suspended. Where did the time go?
I remember longing, forgetting
and remembering-flashes of former lovers
and breakfast tables. Skin and teeth.

Renée Archibald presents an excerpt of the work in progress Renée vs. The Rectangle, a collaboration with New York artist Melinda Ring. This excerpt examines the assumed subjecthood of a performer in a performance space.

She is thick. She extends out beyond the room, out the door, and reaches into the other emptinesses. She drowns out the sound waves, muffles them and that’s how I know she is there.
