This improvisation-based class facilitates self-discovery through curiosity and investigations of the inner and outer landscapes. The class asks movers to notice and question habits and patterns, listen to the body, and ignite unheard points and paths through guided improvisation. By engaging with Dance in an open system, participants work collaboratively and activate real live dance-making.

Originally from Black Mountain, NC, Caitlyn Swett has traveled around the state as a dance maker and arts administrator.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in December 2013.  While in Charlotte she co-founded Triptych Collective, a grassroots arts collective, danced for several independent choreographers, co-produced many multi-disciplinary events, and worked in arts administration and marketing.  Swett is the Administrative Assistant for Helen Simoneau Danse and Program Coordinator and co-organizer for On Site/In Sight: a downtown Winston-Salem dance festival. She currently lives, works, and creates in Winston-Salem, NC.
